I did step into the studio for the first time in a while and came out very productive. After the release of "nineteen eighty" and some b-sides, it seems a lot of people enjoyed the acoustic songs I had done. Today I did record three new songs for fun. You can check them out here: Demo Tape Recordings for 8/27/2012
The songs were:
1. A Smile Lost in the Rain
2. A Dream to Never Want to Need to Dream
3. Last Man on Earth
The whole feeling is this, last man on earth with a tape recorder, and rather than leaving a journal, or some writings, he leaves music, which is a universal language. Not sure if I plan on doing a lot more, or if they will just get lost. Been busy with normal life adventures, so I have been not up to date with the music blog. Hopefully one productive day off I can get some things up. I found a lot of drawings and pics for the "My Absurd Symphony LP" Hope to have them up in the Deluxe section later this fall. Have a great day.

Winner Blues
Unfortunate. I will have to delay the Live Webcast of September 1, because of dental work. No cool story, no cowboy accident, but my teeth are hurting. Anyways, it's been a while. I still plan on doing Deluxe Editions for "Into the Void" and "1980" so that is still in the works.
If you haven't check it out yet, I have the beginnings of "An Absurd Symphony" Deluxe Edition, starting with the Film Symphony in Animation..
Also, you can download the full album on this blog now at Download Me!!
The film Symphony in Animation was fun and of course I am pretty happy with the result. Hopefully I can remaster it because the production was all lo-fi and I have been upgrading some of my toys...
Keep an eye out for these releases only on this BloG...
*Into the Void-Deluxe Edition
*1980-Deluxe Edition
*A Ladder to The Moon Webcast
*2012: A Year in Review from the Lost Green
*A Couple unreleased songs.."from the Crates: A Collection of the Lost Tapes..Sometimes Green"

My Absurd Symphony: The Album
When "My Absurd Symphony" was released back in May 5, 2012, it lasted only 20 days before I remastered it and then added songs from an instrumental imaginary film score album entitled "Into The Void.' Together, they would make a Deluxe album called "Into The Void: An Absurd Symphony."
With the Lost Green Tapes taking a break from recording any new music, and after a productive year of 3 albums thus far in 2012; it now gives me the opportunity to finish some projects I have been working on.
Yes, the Lost Green Tapes at this time have no plans to go into the studio to work on any new material, and we truly are taking a break.
Yes, the Lost Green Tapes at this time have no plans to go into the studio to work on any new material, and we truly are taking a break.
Now, first off, "My Absurd Symphony" was in fact supposed to be just a 12 Track LP. Recording began in September, 2011 and sessions ended in April 2012. In the end, I had 9 songs mastered (Four on the Floor ended up being cut from both final mixes,) and the Album would be released May 5, 2012.
Music Videos, Artwork inspired by the Album, Short Stories, and even a DVD were set to be released later in the year. While mastering "My Absurd Symphony," I began playing around in between mastering sessions recording an Imaginary Film Score. I would put on a movie and play background music to different scenes from different movies while the movie was on mute. Within 2 weeks, I had recorded 14 of these instrumentals using only a Guitar and occasionally adding strings. The intention for "Into The Void" was to make a full length film with the music guiding film.
Late one night, while doing a playback on the finished "My Absurd Symphony" which was on shuffle with "Into The Void,"I began to pick up on what was a natural flow through the songs. After playing around with different tracklists, I made the annoucement via Facebook, that on May 25th 2012, I would be releasing "Into the Void: An Absurd Symphony"

The ideas for promoting "My Absurd Symphony" and "Into The Void" didn't go away, but they did take a backseat. A Summer 2012 began, the music just wouldn't stop coming. I was on a creative streak and I did not wish to waste it so I proceeded with the "Nineteen Eighty Project".
It would be a full album, but released individually throughout the summer via Social Media sites like youtube and Facebook.

Without getting into too much detail about "nineteen eighty", we will save those details and bonus extras for a future Blog entry. 2012 has been a very productive year for me musically, and now with me taking a break, I like to go back and release the Albums of 2012 the way I orginally wanted to. That is why I started this blog. On this blog, you will get access to Extras and Bonuses you would not get on any of my other pages. So, let's start again, by releasing "My Absurd Symphony" and all of the extras to go with it.

Begin here...(Introduction)
Summer is almost over. 2012 so far has been a very interesting and also a very productive year thus far with the releases of Into The Void: An Absurd Symphony and 1980. With Fall just around the corner, I will be taking a break from recording new material. After rediscovering this blog, I thought it's time I start it back up again.
My Facebook page is still open and active *and you should give it a thumbs up* and I am currently reworking my new webpage but that will not be done until early 2013. I plan to use this blog as a way to explore the past 10 years that I have been doing music as a hobby under the the band moniker the "the Lost Green Tapes". Where did this name come from? I will get to that in a future post hopefully one day. I mainly use Facebook as a way to release music through social media sites with the other being my YouTube page. If you have discovered this Blog though, you have lucked out. With most blogs, you get all of the exclusive up to minute news, and this one will be no different.
With 2013 approaching, I am pleased to celebrate 10 years of making music for my own amusement and just having a grand ol' time.
**bravo on the intro for your new blog. can we get moving please?
YES...and...
Now to some music...right???
Though there have been songs recorded that came long before this, this album was the first official record to carry the Lost Green Tapes name. Still lost?
It's okay, if you have never heard it or have no idea what it is, well let me enlighten you...
It was an album written and recorded while I was on Pluto. It is called "return to relaxation" and it was released in late 2003. So, since this is a blog with no set rules, and if you actaully took the time to check it out, I might as well give the back story and explain the hisory of this EP. It was originally put together as a Remix album for the Beastie Boys, with your's truly making the beats. At the time I had the rough mixes on a tape. Side A had the mixes with vocals, and Side B, well it was just the mixes. Originally there were 6, but I later added 2 more.."This Joint" and "Lounge Music From Pluto." So without further delay...Here We Go!!

Even though it's been almost 10 years since this album was put together, the idea of doing a full length Beastie Boy Remix Album still sleeps on a couch in the back of the brain. So yes, with some time off from a recording in the studio, I hope to accomplish a full length Beastie Boy Album. Not only for my own amusement, but as dedication to MCA.
Be in peace brother..
